Day-pouch room (0-1)

For babies, we support them in exploring the world around them. We provide high quality care and support children in developing all areas of their social, emotional well-being, cognitive and physical

Kookaburra room (1-2)

We support the junior toddlers in interacting with the environment and peers. We provide experiences to support the junior toddlers in building relationships with the educators and peers around them.

Little Quokka room (2-3)

We understand that the senior toddlers are starting to develop their self and social awareness. We encourage the toddlers to explore new and different concepts each day.

Koala room (3-4)

We encourage independence and support the younger preschoolers in developing early self-help skills . Our educators plan projects which includes a range of educational and social development.

Kangaroo room (4-5)

We support the preschoolers in getting ready for formal schooling years both emotionally and cognitively. We plan for different experiences which help to hone their confidence, literacy, numeracy skills and develop their learning dispositions.

The little penguin approach to early childhood education
At Little Penguin ELC), we provide high standards of care. We respect families traditions and practices. Families are invited to fill up the 'All about me' form to help us understand your routines and practices so that there is a greater home-school continuation.

Individual interest
When planning for program and possible project topics, we take into account children's interest. This makes the program much more meaningful and fun for them. Children are highly engaged in their learning activities as the experiences are meaningful to them.
Parents as partners
Little Penguin ELC strongly believes in home-school partnership. We respect parents as their child's first and most important teachers. We meet parents 3 - 4 times a years to discuss and review goals of each child and support the children in meeting those goals. Each family would have private sessions with the educators and individualised portfolios that documents the child's journey in achieving the goals.
